This class serves as the foundation to all NCCER trade programs.  Structured as a hybrid class, a combination of on-line training and live classroom/lab training, students learn the necessary basics to start a career in any skilled trade. Students also do not need to be currently working for a trades employer to start this program. Many students successfully work full-time and part-time while attending the program.

Topics covered in this class include Basic Safety; Introduction to Construction Math; Introduction to Hand Tools; Introduction to Power Tools; Introduction to Construction Drawings; Basic Communication Skills; Basic Employability Skills; and Introduction to Materials Handling. 

A textbook is included with the course.
