This course requires a background check, drug screening, and immunization records.  Prior to the start of class, you will receive an email with more information about completing those requirements.

Phlebotomists work directly with patients.  Medical laboratories depend on the phlebotomy technician to collect quality laboratory results.  To do this, the phlebotomy technician must create an atmosphere of trust and confidence with patients while drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and reliable manner.  

This course introduces basic medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, components of health care delivery, and clinical laboratory structure.  It teaches techniques of specimen collection, specimen handling, and patient interactions.  The course includes both lecture and clinical laboratory experiences. Clinical hours are generally between the hours of  8am - 5pm.

Although included with the tuition for this class, no refund or credit is issued to any student for unused or unissued vouchers, or for any out-of-pocket exam and associated expenses.
