Students entering the Level 1 Plumbing class do not need prior industry experience. Students also do not need to be currently working for a Plumbing employer to start this program. The program is structured as a hybrid class, with a combination of both classroom with lecture and hands-on lab training, as well as online content. Many students successfully work full-time and part-time while attending the program.

The Level 1 class introduces students to the following: Introduction to the Plumbing Profession; Plumbing Safety; Tools of the Plumbing Trade; Introduction to Plumbing Math; Introduction to Plumbing Drawings; Plastic Pipe and Fittings; Copper Pipe and Fittings, Cast-Iron Pipe and Fittings; Carbon Steel Pipe and Fittings; Introduction to Plumbing Fixtures; Introduction to Drain, Waste and Vent (DWV) Systems; and Introduction to Water Distribution Systems.

Textbook is included for the course.

Prerequisite REQUIRED for class: Core Craft Skills
