This is an online course in Canvas.  THE EXAM MUST BE TAKEN BY DECEMBER 6, 2024.  Testing can be scheduled at VCCS community college testing centers, or the test can be taken remotely with the Respondus lockdown browser.  Technical requirements are listed in your Canvas course.
The VA-Specific TCS 2-day course is designed to train those who will be actively involved in designing or supervising temporary traffic control in Virginia work zones.  This course is a stand-alone course.  Completion of the VA TCT course is not required.  Students are taught concepts, techniques and practices in the installation and maintenance of traffic control devices, specific to the Commonwealth of Virginia, legal aspects of temporary traffic control, installation and removal procedures, flagging procedures, and other considerations such as pedestrians, nighttime work, and urban areas.  Several presentations included in this course are designed to provide experience in designing temporary traffic control set ups for various real-life situations and recognizing, analyzing, and correcting deficiencies.
