Students entering the Level 1 Plumbing class do not need prior industry experience. Students also do not need to be currently working for an Electrical employer to start this program. The program is structured as a hybrid class, with a combination of both classroom with lecture and hands-on lab training, as well as online content. Many students successfully work full-time and part-time while attending the program.

The Level 1 class introduces students to the following: Introduction to the Plumbing Profession, Plumbing Safety, Introduction to Plumbing Math, Introduction to Plumbing Drawings, Plastic Pipe and Fittings, Copper Pipe and Fittings, Carbon Steel Pipe and Fittings, Corrugated Stainless Steel Tubing, Fixtures and Faucets, Introduction to Drain Waste and Vent (DWV) Systems.

Textbook is included for the course.
