This class is a G3 eligible program. Find out more about G3 at Germanna.edu/Germanna-G3.

This Electrical Level 1 course serves as the first year of training in the Electrical craft and will cover the following content:  Orientation to the Electrical Trade; Electrical Safety; Introduction to Electrical Circuits; Electrical Theory; Introduction to the National Electrical Code; Device Boxes; Hand Bending; Raceways and Fittings; Conductors and Cables; Basic Electrical Construction Drawings; Residential Electrical Services; and Electrical Test Equipment.  Upon completion of all course work, the student will receive an NCCER credential.  The required prerequisite is Core Craft Skills, but students may take it as a corequisite.  A textbook is required for this course and will be provided.

Please provide an accurate email when you register.  This trades program meets the requirements for a state registered apprenticeship; however, they do not place you into a state registered apprenticeship. Registered apprenticeship is between a student and an employer.  During the first class, students will complete required NCCER paperwork, receive class information and schedules, and check out their book(s).  Class will meet in person with safety protocols, and will be set to shift to a hybrid delivery if guidelines restrict in-person meetings.
