Learn the knowledge and skills necessary to enter into an entry-level position with the RACSB to effectively promote empathy, support, and healing when working with people diagnosed with a mental illness, substance abuse and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities. Students will explore diversity, communication, critical thinking, conflict resolution, and the basics of mental & behavioral health care.
In addition to the weekly learning modules, students will be onboarded through RACSB and be paid for up to 20 hours per week. Students will have monthly synchronous Zoom and face to face opportunity to explore and discuss each RACSB work experiences and how to integrate the learning modules in your daily activities at work environment.
These learning modules are designed to help you critically think about your practice as a professional and how best to support and help students the diverse community they will be working with at their placement. This course enriches student knowledge of human behavior relevant to practice with culturally and socially diverse individuals diagnosed with mental disorders and/or substance abuse issues.
Special Notice: Accepted students will need to be 18, have a negative drug screen, and a background check. These items will be completed by RACSB. Students will onboarded and hired by RACSB, working up to 20 hours per week while attending class.
