This course prepares you for the CompTIA Security+ exam. The exam covers industry-wide topics, including communication security, infrastructure security, cryptography, access control, authentication, external attack, and operational and organization security. Network+ or equivalent experience is required to take the course. This class explores network security basics to include: security objectives, security architecture, security models, and security layers. It discusses: risk management, network security policy, and security training. This course will also discuss the five security keys: Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability, Accountability, and Auditability. Textbook is required and available in the college bookstore. Classes will be held at the Culpeper Center as well as at the Fredericksburg Campus if minimum enrollments are reached. Exam voucher is included with tuition.
