This class is the first part of a 2 part class that covers Heat pump fundamentals, components, applications, installation, and service. Heat gain and heat loss calculations based on ACCA's Manuel J are included as troubleshooting guides for both the electrical and refrigeration system.  All types of heat pump systems-both package and split system are studied, including air to air heat pumps, water-source heat pumps and various kinds of special purpose heat pumps.  The course features a simplified performance guide/checklist for servicing heat pumps in both the heating and cooling cycles.  Class will include a field trip in related studies.  Textbook included.
