Offered online, this didactic course requires a program application and prepares students for DA II laboratory and clinical modules.  It covers topics including the clinical significance of dental anatomy, histology, physiology, and occlusion; as well as patient assessment, examination and diagnosis, and treatment planning.  An overview of composite and amalgam restorations, esthetic procedures, and a range of conservative and preventive dental practices are addressed.  Textbook required; access to high speed internet is also required since class is delivered via Blackboard.  Class is open to individuals holding a current Certificate in Dental Assisting (CDA), which a copy of will need to be provided prior to class start.
