This is the entry-level course of the Machining Skills Certification program. This course provides an exploration of the basics in machining, raw materials, use of hand tools, and safety and maintenance. Topics include an overview of measurement techniques, materials, machine tool math, quality control and equipment maintenance. Teamwork, critical thinking and problem solving are emphasized. Hands-on experience and practical applications are included. Successful completion will earn participants the nationally recognied NIMS credential. This is a hybrid course presented by New Pathways.
