New Pathways Introduction to Machining

This is a six week course in two parts.
The first part will be self-paced and web-based that teaches the basics of Blueprint Reading, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance, Quality Control, Machining Processes, Machine Setup, CNC Machine Operation, Precision Measurement and Gauging, Cycle Time Optimization. Each module is tested. Part 1 is self-paced and can be done at the school, home etc.
The second part is additional knowledge in Measurements, Materials and Safety including use of precision measurement, devices and Material Designation. This will earn the student first National Institute of Metalworking Skills Credential. This part will be held in-person at the shop. The schedule is Monday - Friday at Machinist Shop at the Carver Center from 8:30am through 5:00pm.
