Topics include common principles of health and disease, communication, safety measures, and rights of clients living either in their homes or in facilities. Students learn about the roles and responsibilities, the health care team, policies and procedures, infection control, proper nutrition, and the importance of caring for themselves. The course consists of 40 hours of classroom instruction and practical lab skills.
