This is a six week course in two parts.
The first part will be self-paced and web-based that teaches the basics of Blueprint Reading, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance, Quality Control, Machining Processes, Machine Setup, CNC Machine Operation, Precision Measurement and Gauging, Cycle Time Optimization. Each module is tested. Part 1 is self-paced and can be done at the school, home etc.
The second part is additional knowledge in Measurements, Materials and Safety including use of precision measurement, devices and Material Designation. This will earn their first National Institute of Metalworking Skills Credential. This part of the course will be held in-person at the shop. Plan approx. 12 hours per week for this portion of the course. For your convenience, the instructor is available Monday – Thursday 9am to 7pm at New Pathways Tech, 9440 James Madison Hwy, Rapidan VA 22733, behind the Carver Center.
