Machining Level 1: Measurement, Materials & Safety - FF

This is a six-week course in two parts.
The first part will be self-paced and web-based that teaches the basics of
  • Blueprint Reading
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance
  • Quality Control
  • Machining Processes
  • Machine Setup
  • CNC Machine Operation
  • Precision Measurement and Gauging
  • Cycle Time Optimization.
Each module is tested. Part 1 is self-paced and can be done at the school, home etc.

The second part is additional knowledge in Measurements, Materials & Safety including use of
  • Precision measurement
  • Devices and Material Designation.
This will allow the student to earn their first National Institute of Metalworking Skills Credential—Measurement, Materials & Safety. This part will be held in-person at the shop. The schedule is Monday - Friday in the machinist shop behind the Carver Center from 8:30am through 5:00pm.
