Students entering the HVAC/R Level 1 class do not need prior industry experience. Students also do not need to be currently working for an HVAC employer to start this program. The program is structured as a hybrid class, with a combination of both classroom with lecture and hands-on lab training, as well as online content. Many students successfully work full-time and part-time while attending the program.

The Level 1 class introduces students to the following: Introduction to HVAC/R; Trade Mathematics; Basic Copper and Plastic Piping Practices; Soldering and Brazing; Basic Carbon Steel Piping Practices; Basic Electricity; Introduction to Cooling; Introduction to Heating; and Air Distribution Systems.

Textbook is included for the course.

Prerequisite REQUIRED for class: Core Craft Skills
