This is a six-week course broken down into two parts. The first part is web-based and self-paced. Topics include the basics of Blueprint Reading, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance, Quality Control, Machining Processes, Machine Setup, CNC Machine Operation, Precision Measurement and Gauging, and Cycle Time Optimization. Each module is tested. The second part covers more in-depth knowledge of Measurements, Materials & Safety including the use of Precision Measurement Devices and Material Designation. This will allow the student to earn their first National Institute of Metalworking Skills Credential - Measurement, Materials & Safety. The second portion of the course will be held in person.
